Africa-Press – Angola. The National Electoral Commission (CNE) started, on Friday, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the training of 12 members of the polling stations, within the framework of the General Elections of 24 August.

According to a press release from the Angolan Embassy in the DRC sent to Jornal de Angola, the objective of the CNE is to train members of polling stations with effective techniques and tools to direct the vote and scrutiny in the electoral process.

Members will also be provided with theoretical and practical content on the organization and functioning of polling stations, identifying and mastering the electoral material, as well as exercising, in a practical way, the handling of the materials contained in the kits.

The CNE will, for a week, also train members of the polling stations in the cities of Lumbumbashi and Matadi.

Angolan citizens residing in the DRC will be able to vote in the cities of Kinshasa, Lumbumbashi and Matadi.

For the first time, 22,000 Angolan citizens residing in the diaspora will be able to vote in the General Elections on 24 August.
