Africa-Press – Angola. Diamantino Azevedo asked Endiama to contribute to the resolution of the mining, by absorbing the Angolan workforce involved in these operations considered illegal under Angolan law.
“What we think can be a solution to the mining issue, especially for nationals who are engaged in this illegal activity, is to absorb those who are in mining so that they become part of the projects and work on the projects”, stated Diamantino Azevedo.
The minister considered that, “purely and simply removing the miners and leaving them at their mercy does not adapt to the moment when people’s social conditions are worse than they were a while ago”.
From this perspective, he continued, it is up to working on mining projects “to see how we can absorb the national garimpeiros”, taking “the due measures” in relation to others, not least because the mining activity is not intensive in work absorbing numbers limited number of employees.
