Africa-Press – Angola. Work on completing the 22-kilometer contract for national road 311, on the Caiengue/Onzo section, in the municipality of Nambuangongo, Bengo province, has already started.
The fact was confirmed during a tour carried out at the site of the contract awarded in November 2023 and awarded to the company Afavia with supervision by Obriforma.
At that time, work is underway to assemble the shipyard, the laboratory for quality tests and cleaning and regularization of the existing platform to accommodate traffic (a six km route) and preparation of the industrial units.
The deputy administrator for the technical area of Nambuangongo, Rui Pedro, explained that the municipality has soil and stones for the base and sub-base layers, as well as for the mixture of bituminous asphalt that will be used in the construction of the aforementioned section.
The municipal administrator of Nambuangongo, José Domingos Muginga, said that the start of works is allowing greater fluidity in car traffic and greater flow of agricultural production.
He highlighted the importance of the work for the locality, especially for young people who will have the opportunity to have their first job.
Motorist Adão Correia António highlighted that with the cleaning of the road and the accommodation of traffic, improvements in car circulation can already be seen.
Valued at 18 billion 617 million and 978 thousand Kwanzas, the work under the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing will last 11 months.
