Africa-Press – Angola. The consul general of Angola in Lisbon, Portugal, Vicência de Brito, Saturday appealed to Angolans to join synergies to preserve peace and maintain a harmonious environment.

Vicência de Brito, who was speaking at an ecumenical service with different Angolan religious congregations, based in Portugal, in favor of the 4th of April, Day of Peace and National Reconciliation, underlined that the date marks the silencing of weapons, which is why it should be understood as a framework of tolerance and magnanimity.

Therefore, he stressed, this event is also moderating, which urges everyone, imbued with the values ​​and principles that underpin national cohesion, to reinforce the awareness that Angola belongs to everyone.

“Democracy is so important for peace and development, in the same way that peace and development are necessary for democracy”, he asserted.

In turn, the pastor of the Adonai Church, Américo Marques, must work so that the work of peace remains firm, as it is a good of all citizens.

At the event, attended by Angolan diplomats accredited in Portugal, members of youth associations, there was also the presence of a dozen churches, including the Catholic Church, and more than 500 people.
