Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic held this Monday, in Luanda, the inauguration of the Content Production Complex “Ernesto Bartolomeu” of the Public Television of Angola (TPA), in which several modern equipment and international standard studios were installed, which already broadcast programs in HD (High Definition).

For the recovery and construction of the aforementioned complex, located in the district of Camama, municipality of Belas, the Executive paid 35 million euros, which made it possible to modernize TPA with high definition systems, video control and editing, sound, special lighting, as well as as virtual and physical scenarios.

Before unveiling the plaque and visiting the different sectors of the enterprise, the Head of State, accompanied by the First Lady, members of the Executive, deputies and other guests, watched a video that portrays the different moments of TPA.

The Head of State was informed that the technological solutions of the “Ernesto Bartolomeu” Content Production Complex came from the Kingdom of Spain. , as well as a virtual studio to project 3D images, and multiply scenarios without leaving the place.

The amount invested made it possible to acquire state-of-the-art film cameras and two exterior vehicles with internationally accepted quality standards for broadcasting major events, such as sports competitions. Due to restrictions in the international technological market, the first vehicle will only be delivered in July and the second at the end of this year.

The infrastructures of the different studios underwent a complete restructuring. Dressing rooms and rooms were created for make-up, reception of guests and accommodation of editing and post-production technicians. Offices equipped with new furniture and a newsroom with capacity for 64 journalists were also installed.

The setting up of the country’s first news channel, with a large studio facing the newsroom, is also a highlight in the range of services created in the context of TPA’s modernization.

In his welcoming speech, the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication indicated that the investment made by the Executive in TPA will allow the television station to broadcast, until 15 July, for 24 hours, a new channel exclusively for news, called “TPA News”.

Manuel Homem announced that, until 18 October, channels 2 of TPA and Palanca TV will be merged into a single one, called “TPA Cultura e Desporto”, in the context of preserving Angolan culture and valuing different sports.

The official also stressed that the 35 million euros also served to ensure the training and training of journalists, presenters, directors and other TPA technicians, who ensure the operation of all the installed equipment.

He underlined that the training of the referred staff took place in Luanda, Portugal and Spain. It is in the latter country where most of the equipment installed in the TPA Content Production Complex was acquired.

Manuel Homem also highlighted the fact that the visit of the Head of State to the TPA facilities in Camama, in 2019, had influenced the resolution, in full, of the company’s debt, related to the payment of the employees’ social security. The debt amounted to more than 2 billion kwanzas.
