Africa-Press – Angola. The Corimba Viaduct, in the Samba Urban District, municipality of Luanda, whose works began in 2018, will open on Tuesday.

The opening of this lane will make the circulation of drivers from the southern part of the city more fluid and heading towards downtown, passing through Estrada da Samba.

The national director of Urban Infrastructures at the Ministry of Public Works and Territorial Planning, Fernando Francisco, told ANGOP on Sunday (30) that the work, 600 meters long and nine meters wide, had some stops in its implementation, depending on the financial situation that the country has faced in recent years.

He added that the viaduct is part of the work package of the Marginal da Corimba Project, for the improvement of the south of the city of Luanda, which includes a marginal road, with four viaducts, one node and 26 kilometers of urban road, included in the Special Program for Public Works of Luanda (PDGL), in line with the General Master Plan of Luanda (PDGL).

The implementation of the project, according to the director, aims to uneven the Samba/Talatona direction, avoiding the crossing at the same level with the future marginal road, which will have the Dr. António Agostinho Neto Memorial as its starting point and end in Corimba, intersecting the Via da Samba, thus complying with SADC standards, which establishes structuring roads with uneven crossings.
