Africa-Press – Angola. Angola will be represented at the Dubai Diamond Conference, which will take place on February 21, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in one of the rooms of the well-known Atlantis Hotel, The Palm.

The Angolan delegation is headed by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo. The event will count on the participation of public and private companies in the diamond sector, namely Endiama and Sodiam-EP, the MOUNTAIN Stability group, which owns the companies Stardiam & Yetwene.

The Angolan delegation will also be represented by the Angolan ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Albino Malaungo, governor of Lunda-Norte, Ernesto Muangala, governor of Lunda Norte, deputy governor of Luanda, Evanerson Kaputu, former CEO of ENSA, Manuel Gonçalves, among other guests.

During the meeting, Angolan representatives will follow and participate in several sessions of the conference panel, where they will analyze market behavior, risks, opportunities for diamond companies in the coming year, as well as ways to take advantage of the positive moment to strengthen the entire diamond industry

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman of the diamond conference and chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange, said: “The global diamond industry has not only recovered from the pandemic, but has returned with renewed vigor, performing significantly better than we could ever have imagined.”

On the sidelines of the event, several high-level meetings will take place, with emphasis on a meeting of the directors of the World Diamond Council on 20 February.

The DDC Gala Dinner will host the Jewelery World Awards, organized by Informa Markets, the new Jewelery show JGT Dubai, and the meetings of the Presidents of the World Federation of Diamond Bags (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA), which will take place on the 24th and 25th of February.
