Africa-Press – Angola. The Cuando Cubango District Court recovered, for the first time, 30 million kwanzas, since the start of the closed process against the fight against corruption, which began in 2017.

The fact was announced by the presiding judge of the Cuando Cubango District Court, Jones Paulo, when he spoke as part of the celebration of World Anti-Corruption Day, celebrated on the 8th of this month.

The presiding judge informed that throughout this year the court registered three cases of corruption of an economic nature, which involve public managers and are undergoing legal procedures.

According to the judge, the reduced number of cases is a consequence of the lack of reporting culture on the part of public institutions and citizens.

Therefore, Jones Paulo asked the population to promptly collaborate in reporting cases of this kind, so that those responsible are held accountable and the fight against this evil is successful.

At the World Anti-Corruption Day ceremony, the deputy governor for the political, social and economic sectors, Helena Chimena, requested the active participation of all citizens and institutions in its eradication.

According to the deputy governor, the fight against corruption and the diversification of the national economy remain at the top of the Executive’s attention.
