Africa-Press – Angola. Two hundred and nine cards began to be distributed on Saturday to taxi drivers and motorcycle taxi drivers in Cuanza Norte province, as part of the government’s initiative to subsidize the price of gasoline for some operators in the transport sector and the national economy.

The director of the Provincial Office for Transport, Traffic and Urban Mobility, João Sebastião.
The province, he pointed out, registered 823 motorized and car taxi operators, of which 614 were excluded for not complying with the requirements required by law.
Artisanal fishing vessels were not registered, because, according to the director, the majority existing in the province are propelled by oars.
Some taxi drivers questioned defended the distribution of cards to all members of the class, reducing the bureaucracy in accessing the document.
Guilherme Kizua, a taxi driver on Via Dondo/Ndalatando, said that, while the operators are waiting for the cards, the fare has risen from 2,000 to 2,500 kwanzas.
António Francisco, also a taxi driver, said that so far he has not registered his vehicle due to lack of up-to-date documents.
Cazengo, according to the person in charge of Transport, has not yet received any request for registration from car taxi operators, due to the lack of documents on their part.
