Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism consulted, this Monday, in Saurimo (Lunda Sul), the traditional authorities and the population in general, with a view to collecting contributions to resolve existing conflicts in the succession of the Lunda Cokwe reign.
Speaking to the press, at the end of the consultation, the national director of communities and institutions of traditional power, Albano Kufuna, said that the problem of the Cokwe reign has dragged on for a long time.
He added that taking into account the existing conflicts, it is imperative that the traditional authorities themselves reveal the veracity of the facts, in order to be cautious once and for all.
He stated that being a lineage conflict, the ministry appears as a mediator of the two figures in dispute for the throne, Lucas and Estêvão, since they are both members of the same family, thus facilitating the work of the local traditional power.
After Lunda Sul, the caravan will continue with the same objective to the provinces of Lunda Norte and Moxico.
Albano Kufuna made it known that the Ministry of Culture and Turiamo has registered 1,60 traditional authorities in Lunda Sul province.
