Africa-Press – Angola. MPLA militants, sympathizers and friends in Cunene province expressed, this Tuesday (06), their connection to the party’s ideals and that they have great confidence in winning a victory in the next general elections.
The demonstration was made directly to the MPLA leader, when he arrived at the “João Lourenço” square to open the pre-campaign, where more than 60 thousand people were waiting. The streets of the city of Ondjiva were small to receive so many people from all over the world. the corners of the province, on such a special day, which also marked the beginning of a new era in the life of that population, thanks to the Cafu water transfer system.
There was such euphoria, especially among women and youth, that, despite the blazing sun that was being felt at that time of day, they did not “flinch”, out of respect for their President. And, as was to be expected, João Lourenço showed that he is with the people and that the people are with him, said a militant, visibly moved.
Even before the President’s entry, “João Lourenço Square” was already in flames, with the colors of the MPLA and with militants coming from all municipalities in the province. The atmosphere was culturally animated by Sister Sofia and Brother Bambila, Sabino Henda, Night and Day and local musicians. The Organization of Angolan Women (OMA) and JMPLA praised the figure of the number one of the MPLA, in a ceremony that included a sample of agricultural products, harvested in the lands of King Mandume ya Ndemufayo.
