Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of the Interior, Eugénio Laborinho, urged, on Monday (28), the population to promote the culture of dialogue, in order to solve the problems that concern society.

Eugénio Laborinho, who was speaking, in Benguela, during the central act of the 46th anniversary of the National Police, added that a special and sensitive moment is approaching, the general elections, which demands a civic and pedagogical posture from all Angolans.

He recalled that the National Police lost many personnel in carrying out missions and that several cadres were trained in different areas of knowledge, although there was still much to be done.

He guaranteed that the Ministry of the Interior continues to focus on training its staff, at all levels, to reinforce public order and tranquility.

“We will continue to pay special attention to the staff, especially the older ones, taking into account their vast experience and years of work”, said Minister Eugénio Laborinho, adding that, “despite the economic crisis, aggravated by Covid-19, whenever there is a financial line, we will continue to promote and graduate staff, especially those who have been in a post for more than ten years”.

According to the Minister of the Interior, the focus will continue to be on valuing staff, based on meritocracy, giving priority to career advancement at all levels.

He reiterated the Executive’s commitment to creating working conditions and accommodation for staff, making it known that some provincial, municipal, police stations and posts are being rehabilitated and others built, within the scope of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).

He also spoke of the inauguration of condominiums for employees of the sector, without discrimination, a process that covers the province of Benguela.

“In recent months we have been distributing vehicles, various equipment, motorcycles and non-lethal means, to various bodies of the Ministry, especially municipal commands, with a view to preventing and combating crime “, he underlined.

Eugénio Laborinho said that this process will continue, with a view to improving response capacity and took the opportunity to thank the Government of Benguela, which has helped to equip police units with different means, such as vehicles and motorcycles, to reinforce security in communities.

To the staff he advised more work, dedication, courage, sacrifice, vigilance, spirit of mission and discipline.
