Africa-Press – Angola. The Democratic Block, a political party led by Filomeno Vieira Lopes, will hold on the 9th of this month, at the premises of the Sisters Paulinas, in Luanda, the first national colloquium of cadres, in which the 13 years of the party organization, marked on the 20th of October, will be analysed. .

The symposium, said the secretary general of the party, Muata Sebastião, will have the participation of 150 guests, among militants and representatives of Angolan civil society. There will be a retrospective of the creation of the Civic Association of Angola (ACA) and the Front for Democracy (FPD), both predecessors of the current Democratic Bloc.

The event will have four hours of debates and will feature two panels. The first will reflect on the path of the Democratic Bloc, from the Civic Association of Angola (ACA), Front for Democracy (FpD) and culminating with the Democratic Bloc.

The second panel will address the view of the Democratic Bloc on issues related to Human Rights, Environment, racism and foreign policy.

The secretary general of the BD revealed that the moment will also be used to honor founding figures of the Democratic Bloc, whether they are militants or not.

Muata Sebastião stressed that, as part of the political strategy, a national mobilization campaign is underway, the goal of which is to reach, by December of this year, 13,000 militants in all municipalities in the country.

The program also includes the creation, in the period 2022-2027, in all municipalities in the country, of “Citizenship Houses”, where resident activists will be able to discuss ideas with local communities.

In Muata Sebastião’s view, the Democratic Bloc is an institution that has existed for 13 years, but it has already had more than three decades of political ideology, started in 1990.
