Africa-Press – Angola. Travel abroad by ministers of state, ministers, provincial governors, secretaries of state and deputy provincial governors will be suspended, as of the 15th of this month, until the investiture of the President of the Republic resulting from the 2022 general elections, according to the Presidential Order No. 113/22, of 9 May, published on Monday in the Diário da República.
According to the same document, the measure is justified by the fact that it considers that the term of office of the Executive for the period 2017-2022 is approaching, in accordance with the provisions of article 112 of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola.
He reinforces that this is adjusted “taking into account the need to maximize the results of the work of institutional articulation developed, as well as to carry out a balance of activities carried out during the term of office by the various bodies of the Central and Local Administration of the State”.
The same Presidential Order clarifies, in number 2, that the suspension “is not applicable” to the Minister and State Secretaries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as to entities that travel to attend to specific and unavoidable situations, provided they are duly authorized. Also to the authorizations granted before the validity of this Presidential Order.
