Africa-Press – Angola. A group of deputies from the 3rd specialized working committee of the National Assembly traveled this Tuesday morning to the commune of Luvo, municipality of Mbanza Kongo, province of Zaire, to find out about the migratory situation at that border post with the DRC.
Led by deputy Maria Ângela Bragança, the group of deputies from the commission that covers the area of Foreign Relations, International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Abroad, arrived on Monday in the city of Mbanza Kongo, for a 48-hour working visit to the province of Zaire.
Speaking to the press, Ângela Bragança said that the deputies of this committee want to verify on the ground the real migratory situation at the Luvo border post, considered one of the busiest in the country.
“In addition to being the busiest in the country, the Luvo border is also considered the most vulnerable, which is why we came to see in crazy the migratory flow at that customs post”, said the deputy.
Before, the deputies were received, in audience, by the governor of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, where they were informed about the socioeconomic situation of the province.
In Luvo, in addition to visits to the immigration and customs services, the parliamentary delegation will meet with those responsible for the border posts.
Visits to the socio-economic projects underway in the commune of Luvo, as well as the detention center for illegal foreigners, are on the agenda of the deputies to the headquarters municipality of the province of Zaire.
The border commune of Luvo is 60 kilometers north of the city of Mbanza Kongo, capital of the province of Zaire.
