Deputies defend readjustment of the earthworks budget

Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA deputy, Manuel da Cruz Neto, defended Friday, in Malanje, the readjustment of the prices of the earthworks of the intermunicipal sections registered in the scope of the PIIM, with a view to allowing its quick conclusion and the free movement of people and goods.

The parliamentarian, who was speaking as deputy coordinator of the group of seven deputies who worked in the province for three days, acknowledged that there were difficulties on the part of contractors to comply with contractual deadlines for works related to the rehabilitation of roads, due to the high costs.

According to the deputy coordinator, it is important to boost the earthworks, in order to facilitate the implementation of more social infrastructures, especially in the municipalities of Marimba and Cunda-dia-base.

He stressed that the difficulties in accessing the referred locations discourage private investment, given the high logistical costs, a situation that slows down the socio-economic development of the communities.

On the other hand, he recommended to municipal administrators to reinforce the supervision of the works of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), in order to make the equipment available to citizens and improve their standard of living.

Manuel da Cruz Neto ensured continuous advocacy with the Executive, with a view to streamlining the works in progress and expanding the electricity network across the region’s municipalities, taking into account the province’s potential in terms of energy production.

It is said that the seven MPLA deputies traveled to the 14 municipalities of the province, where they learned about the political, social and economic reality, as well as listening to the citizens.
