Africa-Press – Angola. The deputies of the 4th Commission of the National Assembly gave, this Tuesday, a positive note to the works of the Executive underway in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda.

The visit is part of parliament’s mandate to legislate and monitor on behalf of citizens.

At the end of the meeting, deputy Américo Chivucuvucu made it known that the commission is carrying out, in Luanda and Bengo, visits to evaluate the execution of the OGE and the implementation of works linked to the PIIM, PIP and other programs of the Executive.

The parliamentarian said he had received the mission to work in Viana to find out about the degree of physical and financial execution of the projects, including schools, health centres, Capalanca hospital, markets, as well as roads to be improved.

He considered the result positive, having left a message of encouragement to those responsible for the municipality and to everyone involved in the projects.

“We returned with a positive idea, we have the exact notion that the problems are enormous but the challenge is to solve them gradually”, he stressed.

Regarding Hospital do Capalanga, he recalled that the municipality of Viana has always been a critical area, but they left with a positive impression, as they saw that there was an effort by the authorities to improve infrastructure, to create better working conditions for health technicians. , as well as providing better service with a focus on humanization.

“The problems are varied with regard to basic sanitation, support in terms of piped drinking water, extension of energy. Viana has about 3 million inhabitants, one third of the province of Luanda, so the challenges are great, but we leave a message of solidarity and encouragement because our focus is to work for the prosperity of human dignity”.

In turn, the administrator of Viana, Demétrio de Sepúlveda, said that they had shown the deputies what is being done in the municipality.

He highlighted, in the Estalagem Urban District, the Rua das Madres road, which is 5.4 kilometers long and is being paved, despite some drainage problems arising from the limited budget available.

He made it known that the deputies were satisfied with what they saw and gave some notes on the various projects.

Regarding the road to the cemetery (Viana/Calumbo), he explained that the work has already been contracted and should start shortly, under the responsibility of the Provincial Government of Luanda.

Américo Chivucuvucu and José Ndambuca, accompanied by the administrator of Viana and members of his department, visit the Asphalting Project on Rua do Centro Ortopédico 5km, the school with 7 classrooms, in Bairro Luanda Sul, the health post at Km 14- B, the asphalting project of Rua das Madres – Obras do PIP, the rehabilitation of the school (5051) with 7 classrooms, the Calumbo market, the construction and equipping of a Health Center in Mulenvos do Sul, as well as the hospital of Henchman.

They comprise the municipality of Viana, the urban districts of Zango, Baia, Vila Flor, Kikuxi, Vila/sede, Estalagem and the commune of Calumbo.
