Africa-Press – Angola. Deputies to the National Assembly, residing in Benguela, carried out a fieldwork day in 10 municipalities in the province, with the aim of evaluating the functioning of the One-Stop Public Service Desks (BUAP).

In addition, the initiative noted the level of affluence of citizens to the posts installed to update the Official Electoral Register, the difficulties in attending to those who will be able to exercise their right to vote in the election scheduled for August this year.

The parliamentarians have already toured the villages of the municipalities of Ganda, Cubal, Bocoio, Catumbela, Lobito, Benguela and Caimbambo.

According to the spokeswoman for the parliamentary group, Deolinda Valiangula, the BUAP is in full swing, despite some technical problems presented by the operators, namely the failure of the system. She said that she had noticed the absence of inspectors from political parties, except those from the MPLA and UNITA, who have followed the process from the beginning.

The provincial secretary of UNITA, in Benguela, Adriano SapiƱala, considered that the electoral registration is fundamental to legitimize the voluntary and conscious expression of the citizen’s vote at the polls, while the local responsible for CASA-CE, Martins Domingos, highlighted the capacity building of 30 militants within the framework of transparency.
