The projects completed in the sectors of Health, Education, Water and access roads included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), in the province of Huíla, are contributing to the expansion of the health network and the improvement of hospital services and the movement of people. and goods, said this Monday, in the city of Lubango, the governor Nuno Mahapi Dala.

Speaking at the end of the visit by the MPLA Parliamentary Group, headed by Virgílio de Fontes Pereira, as part of the Parliamentary Days in progress until the 30th of this month, he said that 96% of the works had been completed.

Without specifying the total number of projects underway in the province, he acknowledged that the PIIM has made it possible to carry out actions that are contributing to the improvement of the population’s living conditions, with emphasis on the social area.

The official informed that the municipal hospitals and health centers in almost all the municipalities of Huíla had been completed and equipped, stressing that, with the PIIM fund, it was possible to level some secondary and tertiary roads, thus promoting improvements in trade. .

In Lubango, the MPLA Parliamentary Group visited the construction works of the new market, with 180 benches, and the new Administration, both in the A Luta Continua neighbourhood, now in the final phase.

The construction of 150 evolutionary houses, the electrical and water distribution system, in the Eiva neighborhood, the health centers of Maputa, Tchioco and Machiqueira, which have been operating for about a year, were also inspected by the deputies.

He indicated that PIIM’s actions cover the 14 municipalities, targets of visits by deputies. “We are making many infrastructures available to the population and our concern is to have these units, above all, hospitals and teaching, budgeted”, he defended, stressing that, with the gain, the managers will be able to manage by themselves. and buy medication.

For the governor, the distribution of medicines is still a challenge. Nuno Mahapi Dala believes that the Ministry of Health is aware of the situation. He added that the goal is, by the end of June, to deliver all the missing PIIM works.

During the visit, the president of the MPLA Parliamentary Group, Virgílio de Fontes Pereira, to Lu-bango, delivered kits of various medicines and computer equipment to the health units.

It also includes the delivery of electrical appliances to the people relocated in the neighborhood of Eiva, commune of Arimba, on the outskirts of the city of Lubango. In addition to Virgílio Fontes Pereira, as coordinator, the group is made up of 14 other deputies.
