Africa-Press – Angola. The deputies of the 7th Commission of the National Assembly admitted the need for a financial allocation for the Angolan Youth Institute (IAJ), for the implementation of various public utility projects.
Speaking to the press, after visiting the headquarters of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the chairman of the said committee, Conceição João Faria Paulo, considered it unfair that this body, judging by its national utility, has difficulties in terms of human resources and its own budget. .
He said that there is a need to rethink the organization of various strategic bodies such as the IAJ, when on the other hand others, such as the National Youth Council, have an endowment of 144,697,688 kwanzas.
In the view of this group, it is not fair that IAJ is lacking, despite the load of project of great public utility that it has been developing in the 18 provinces and the CNJ having the availability.
He appealed to the need and urgency not only of the National Assembly, but also of the Executive, to rethink its priorities.
He suggested that the focus should be on the Angolan Youth Institute, created in 2014, which should be satisfied with human capital, materials and with a greater expansion across the national territory, given the projects it has been developing.
During the day, the deputies also found out about the execution levels of the activities that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has been developing, according to its budget.
In this regard, he informed that MINJUD faces challenges such as framing the youth layer in the labor market, popularizing sport and rehabilitation of strategic infrastructures, but, unfortunately, it does not have the necessary financial availability.
In turn, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, added that it was a fruitful meeting, as it was possible to obtain new guidelines and suggestions to better serve youth and national sport .
