Africa-Press – Angola. Several social works in progress, included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), are being visited, since Monday, by members of the National Assembly from the provincial circle of Cabinda, to assess the degree of execution.
The program of activities of the five parliamentarians (MPLA, UNITA and CASA-CE) was preceded by a meeting with the deputy governor for the Political and Social sector, Miguel de Oliveira, by whom they were informed about the evolution of the 85 projects, registered in the PIIM, of which 70 are local, valued at 23 billion kwanzas.
The director of the Cabinda Provincial Government’s Office of Studies and Planning (GEP), António Eduardo dos Santos, said, in the presentation to the deputies, that the 70 projects of the 85 planned were initially budgeted at 19 billion kwanzas, but given the financial readjustment (25%) increased the value to 23 billion kwanzas.
The PIIM in Cabinda contemplates the construction of projects in the fields of Water, Health, Education and the rehabilitation of public infrastructures.
The coordinator of the group of deputies, Artur do Carmo, said that the visits aim to verify the level of execution of all the projects underway in the province, especially the structural ones with great social impact, with emphasis on the Passenger Maritime Terminal and Quebra-Mar. .
“We will visit all the works included in the PIIM to assess their degree of implementation and the main constraints that may exist so that, together with the State Administration bodies, we can do the proper advocacy with a view to finding solutions for completion”, he noted.
For Artur do Carmo, one of the main missions of a deputy’s mandate is to verify, listen, recommend, advise and find solutions for the social well-being of populations.
The deputies’ work schedule included visits to the Passenger Maritime Terminal, Quebra-Mar, the Cabinda District Court building, construction and paving of 14 kilometers of road in the Chiweca district, the works of the Cabinda Magisterium, the construction work for the Centrality of Cabinda, the General Hospital of Cabinda, Health Center of Simindele, among other projects.
