Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy governor of Luanda for the Political and Social area, Manuel Sebastião, reiterated, Saturday, the appeal to the Church for the continued awareness of the population in the fight against certain “evils” that plague the country’s capital.

Of these evils, the official pointed out the disorderly sale on public roads, vandalism of public goods and garbage disposal in prohibited places. Manuel Sebastião was speaking to the press after a thanksgiving service, alluding to the 50th anniversary of the Church of the Seventh Day in Cazenga.

For him, there is an urgent need for the church to mobilize and sensitize its members in order to carry the message of combating such practices.

He considered that they were carrying out, at this time, the cleaning of the drainage ditches, so that the residents should behave with dignity and stop depositing waste in these points. He expressed the willingness of the Government of Luanda to continue collaborating with the social partners in this field.

The president and representative of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Angola, Teixeira Mateus Vinte, considered that the congregation has an active voice, hence the commitment to continue to moralize society, for the good behavior of citizens.
