Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan diplomatic authorities accredited to the Republic of Congo are committed to strengthening bilateral relations between the provinces of Cabinda (Angola) and those of Kouilou, Ponta Negra and Nyari (Congo), informed the Angolan ambassador to that neighboring country, Vicente Muanda.
Speaking to the press yesterday, at the end of an audience with the governor of the province of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, the diplomat said that the Angolan Embassy in Congo is available to work with government authorities in the implementation of actions to strengthen cooperation with the three neighboring Congolese cities, in the political, economic and social fields, for the well-being of the citizens of the two neighboring countries.
For the diplomat, the strengthening of bilateral relations between the Government of Cabinda and the Congolese authorities is extremely important, as it will allow for greater interaction and communication between the Angolan community residing in that neighboring country and the family in the province, taking into account that “eighty percent of the citizens who live in Ponta Negra and Dolisie come from Cabinda”.
Regarding the issuance of the Identity Card for Angolan citizens residing in that country, the ambassador said that the process is proceeding normally, and in the coming days it should begin with the issuance of the passport.
“The process of issuing Identity Cards for our community is proceeding normally, both at the Consular Posts and at the Embassy in Brazzaville”, said Vicente Muanda, for whom the only constraint has to do with citizens who cannot prove that the father or mother is Angolan.
The ambassador expressed concern about the current situation of the Consular School, which is facing “serious problems of administration that should be administered by the Government of the Province of Cabinda to allow the unification of the school curriculum”.
He added that this constraint has been negatively influencing the teaching and learning process. Available data indicate that the teachers who teach at the Consular School, in the city of Ponta Negra, have been without their salaries for a few months and the infrastructure is lent by the Congolese government.
