Africa-Press – Angola. Four ambassadors accredited in Angola were, on Friday, at separate moments, at the MPLA headquarters, to assess the cooperation between their countries and Angola, in the current political context.
Received by the secretary of the MPLA Political Bureau for International Relations, Manuel Augusto, the ambassadors of Brazil, China, North Korea and the State of Palestine spoke about strengthening cooperation.
Brazil wants to observe elections
The ambassador of Brazil, Rafael de Melo Vidal, expressed interest in bringing a team of observers to Angola for the general elections scheduled for August. The diplomat recalled that his country, in addition to being the first in the world to recognize Angola’s independence, maintains very solid cooperation relations. guaranteed to work on the preparation and success of the meeting of the CPLP chancellors, scheduled for the same month.
China wants to make a difference
China, Angola’s biggest trading partner, wants to continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation in several areas, in a year that will be marked by two major events: the general elections in Angola and the 20th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. Ambassador Gong Tao recalled the support to the Angolan Government’s strategy in training staff in different areas of knowledge in China.
The diplomat considered the relations between the two parties healthy, based on the principle of non-interference in internal affairs. At the meeting, which also served to congratulate the MPLA for holding its VII Congress, he recalled that relations between the MPLA and the Chinese Communist Party began before independence.
North Korea wants to support health
The Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Jo Pyong Chal, expressed interest in providing support in the field of health, an area that the parties considered strategic. The desire was at the heart of the meeting with Manuel Augusto, which served to discuss issues of the international situation and strengthen cooperation between the two countries. Relations with Palestine The ambassador of the State of Palestine accredited to Angola, Najah Mohammed Abdul Rahman, recalled, at the end of the meeting with the secretary of the MPLA Political Bureau, that the relations between the two parties are historical, since they come from Agostinho Neto and Yasser Arafat.
