Africa-Press – Angola. The construction of photovoltaic plants in the country was considered by the ambassador of the United States of America to Angola, Tulinabo Mushingi, as an added value for the social and economic well-being of the Angolan population.
Speaking this Tuesday, during the inauguration of the Saurimo Photovoltaic Plant, in the province of Lunda-Sul, the diplomat highlighted the transfer of technology by American companies, the creation of jobs and the use of local content as factors that have contributed to the development of clean energy.
On the other hand, he reiterated that the American Government will continue to support Angola on issues related to the fight against corruption and the promotion of transparency that is being initiated by the Angolan Executive.
In the field of cooperation, he said that when working together with other partners, such as the Angolan Government, foreigners and private parties, some benefits can be achieved for the people of each region, hence it is necessary to continue working together.
For his part, the South Korean ambassador to Angola, Stefan Kwang, was satisfied with the venture, considering it the best model of partnership between the two governments.
He hoped that projects of this kind would emerge in all provinces of the country, in order to serve future generations.
The representative of the Portuguese embassy in Angola, Ana Maneira, said that the construction of the Saurimo Photovoltaic Plant brings clean energy to the municipality of Saurimo for more than 171 thousand families, in addition to providing comfort, creating jobs, among other aspects.
He also highlighted the reinforcement of the fight against climate change, with energy diversification, contributing to the diversification of the Angolan economy.
The Saurimo Photovoltaic Plant was inaugurated by the Minister of Energy and Water, João Borges, in the presence of the provincial governor of Lunda-Sul, Daniel Neto.
