Africa-Press – Angola. The outgoing president of FC Bravos do Maquis do Moxico, Manuel Quitadica “Docas”, is running alone for a 4th term in leadership of the maquisardes.
Speaking to the Press, Agrione Manuel, representative of the only candidacy presented for the top seat of the maquisarde team, said it was a list of continuity.
“We have met all the requirements, now we will wait for validation from the electoral commission.”
If elected, in the elections scheduled for the 16th of this month, “Docas” will be able to fulfill his fourth term as maquisards director, functions that began in 2012.
Sponsored by the diamond company SODIAM, the Moxico team was created, in the city of Luena, on July 27, 1983, through the holding of a club Assembly, which elected the first board of directors of the association, constituted, at the time, by Manuel Vieira Alberto (President), António Isaac Mana (Vice-President) and Pinto Augusto Kuzo (General Secretary).
The team began to participate in provincial competitions, until reaching the qualification championship for the first division, under the name FC Onze Bravos dos Maquis, having risen, for the first time, to the main level of National Football in 1998.
In addition to football, the Moxico club has other sports, notably Handball, Judo, Karate, Basketball, Athletics and Chess.
At Girabola, they currently occupy seventh place in the league table, with 17 points, in a competition led by Desportivo da Lunda-Sul with 28 points.
