Africa-Press – Angola. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will host from 18 to 19 August the 42nd Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), to be held under the motto:

“Promotion of Industrialization, through Agro-processing, Transformation of Mineral Resources and Development of Regional Value Chains, in favor of Inclusive and Resilient Economic Growth”.

According to a note from the Angolan mission in the DRC, the Summit will be preceded by the meeting of the Council of Ministers, to be held from 13 to 14 August, and will aim to analyze the progress made in the implementation of the various decisions aimed at materializing integration. and assess current issues regarding the organization’s financial situation, the degree of implementation of the SADC Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP), implementation of Council and Summit decisions, implementation of the SADC Industrialization Strategy and Roadmap, among others. another subjects.

The Meeting of the Council of Ministers, in turn, is preceded by the Meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials, which began on 9 August, during which the Democratic Republic of Congo assumed the Presidency of this Committee and subsequently of the organization.

The Angolan delegation at the Senior Officials’ meeting is headed by Ambassador Nazaré Salvador and includes senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Angolan Embassy in the Republic of Botswana to SADC and the Angolan mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
