Africa-Press – Angola. Delegates to the 2nd Extraordinary Conference of the MPLA Municipal Committee in Talatona, held Saturday, in Luanda, elected Adão Pinto Franklin, for the position of first secretary of this party body.
The new first municipal secretary of the MPLA in Talatona was elected with 400 votes in favor, corresponding to 98.5%, three against, five abstentions and three null, in a total of 406 valid votes.
In his speech, after being elected, Adão Pinto Franklin said that one of the main lines of his action for Talatona will be to create great cohesion within the party.
The politician referred that his task and that of the entire secretariat team will be one of greater interaction and proximity with the population.
This will imply, according to him, going down to the bases, remaining and fortifying them so that the party can count on the action committees, sections of the OMA and nuclei of the Jmpla.
To this end, Adão Pinto Franklin promised to mobilize more and more militants within the party, with the aim of boosting and revitalizing the action committees to ensure the continuity of maintaining power in Angola and the victory of the MPLA in the next general elections. from 2027.
For his part, the provincial secretary of the MPLA in Luanda, Manuel Homem, instructed the new first municipal secretary to work with everyone, put an end to differences and strengthen the party in the municipality of Talatona.
