The National Electoral Commission (CNE) concluded, this Saturday, in Luanda, the training action aimed at national trainers for Electoral Civic Education agents and the legislative package for the general elections of next August, which took place from the 13th to the 17th of this month. .
The training topics were presented by CNE members and by technicians from the Electoral Training and Civic Education Directorate, namely Cremildo Paca, Lucas Quilundo, Eduardo Magalhães, Maria Augusta Rodrigues, Maria Pascoal, Esperança Armando, Patrice Ramanoza Grilo, Delfina Gomes and Jordan Gourgel.
According to the final communiqué of the training session, read by Electoral Commissioner Eduardo Magalhães, in the Electoral Legislative Package chapter, “The Constitution of the Republic of Angola”, “Organic Law on General Elections Amended by Law 30/21, of 30 November”, “Organic Law on the Organization and Functioning of the National Electoral Commission”, “Nationality Law”, “Political Parties Law”, “Political Parties Financing Law”, “Electoral Observation Law”, ” Press Law”, “The Electoral Code of Conduct and the Disciplinary Regime for CNE Members and Local Bodies”.
As for the training of Electoral Civic Education agents, the themes were “the Electoral Civic Education campaign”, “Electoral Civic Education agents”, “campaign phases”, “constitution and functioning of polling stations”, “electoral surveillance and observation ” and “voting order”. There were also topics “voting, counting and tabulation”, “surveillance and electoral observation”, as well as “training of national trainers for the Electoral Legislative Package and Electoral Civic Education agents for the August 2022 general elections”.
During the five days of training, the participants were also provided with uniform tools on the domain of Electoral Legislative Packages, as well as the manual, having been transmitted to the same methods of interpretation, as a tool for working and mobilizing voters for the exercise of voting rights. The contents were presented in work sessions through the exhibition of themes, interaction and practical sessions in groups.
The meeting was attended by members of the National Electoral Commission, representatives of diplomatic and consular missions from the countries that will host the voting abroad in the August 24 elections, presidents of the Provincial Electoral Commissions and of the Municipal Electoral Commissions of Luanda, national directors, heads of training departments, Electoral Civic Education and information from the Provincial Electoral Commissions, CNE technicians and national trainers.
