Africa-Press – Angola. The Electoral Commission of Kwanza – Sul accredited, on Thursday (11), in the city of Sumbe 14 thousand 350 delegates from the MPLA, UNITA, APN, CASA-CE, FNLA, P-NJANGO, PRS and PHA lists, competing for the general elections of 24 August.
The president of the Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE) of Cuanza-Sul, Maria Cristina Ndembi, said that the accreditation of list delegates is one of the formalities referring to the preparatory process for the general elections and was preceded by actions to update those responsible on the handling of equipment.
Maria Ndembi appealed to the leaders of political parties to commit themselves to creating the necessary conditions, so that citizens can exercise their right to vote on election day.
It asked political parties and coalitions of parties to strictly and impartially observe the Organic Law on the organization and functioning of the national commission and its local bodies. “Exemplary behavior by party list delegates and party coalitions is essential for general elections to take place in a peaceful environment, avoiding abstention and the emergence of null votes”, underlined the president of the Provincial Electoral Commission.
