Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE), José Jamba, said, in the commune of Mabubas, Bengo province, that the trainers have increased responsibilities in the process of preparing the General Elections, requesting, therefore, greater engagement in the transmission of knowledge to the technicians to do a good job at polling stations.

José Jamba was speaking at the opening of the training seminar for 35 provincial electoral trainers, so that they can carry out their mission in an orderly manner. The president of the Provincial Electoral Commission in Bengo underlined that the trainers must carry out the work with understanding, interpretation of the local situation and application of electoral legislation, so that they are able to provide municipal agents with technical subsidies of great value.

“It is intended, with this training action, that the participants are equipped with important tools that allow them to administer the contents of the electoral legislative package to Organs local bodies”, said the head of the CPL do Bengo.

According to José Jamba, there is a need for participants to obtain content within the scope of Electoral Civic Education, so that they are able and ready to promote civic education campaigns, as well as mobilize and inform voters about the importance of the electoral process, the location of vote and how to vote.

During two days, the trainers will address matters related to “The Electoral Civic Education Campaign”, “Electoral Civic Education Agents”, “Campaign Phases, Constitution and Operation of Polling Stations”, “Supervision and Observation Electoral”, “Voting Order”, as well as “Voting, Counting and Tabulation”.

The CPE-Lunda-Sul Provincial Electoral Commission started yesterday in Saurimo, within the framework of the preparation of the next General Elections, a seminar on electoral civic education lasting three days, in which nine trainees participate, to work as trainers of agents of awareness in communities.

Training actions include topics such as “Campaign Phases”, “Civic Electoral Administration Bodies”, “Education Campaign”, “Constitution and functioning of polling stations”, “Electoral surveillance and observation”, “Voting process” , “Counting and tabulation”.
