Africa-Press – Angola. Eleven citizens, of Mauritanian, Conagri Guinean and Ivorian nationalities, answer in the Court of Huambo, accused of falsifying documents, revealed this Wednesday, the local director of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), migration commissioner Hermenegildo Lucachi.
The migration official, who was speaking at the ceremony celebrating the 47th anniversary of this body of the Ministry of the Interior, which is celebrated yesterday, said that those involved were forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) by the Migration and Foreigners Service, in a total of 16 criminal cases registered, from April 2022 to the present date.
According to the person in charge, besides the crime of forgery of documents, the accusation of illegal exploitation of strategic ores and the exercise of unauthorized professional activity, mainly in foreign companies, falls to them.
He said that during this period six foreign citizens, detained and accused of various crimes, were released, by order of the PGR, two more compared to the same previous period.
Regarding migratory transgressions, the commissioner said that, in the same period, 65 cases were opened, 43 more than in the previous year, with the involvement of 57 foreigners of different nationalities and status, as well as eight companies, one of which has capital foreigner.
He referred that, through the document management and online visa extension system, the organization sent 2,205 requests for the issuance of travel documents and handed over 1,863 passports (ordinary and service passports) of nationals, in addition to 574 visas for foreigners and 99 resident cards.
In turn, prison commissioner Chinhama Samuel Jamba, representing the Interior delegate in Huambo province, highlighted the historical trajectory of the Foreign Migration Service and the commitment of its staff in defending migration acts.
He appealed to the population to collaborate with this body of the Ministry of the Interior in denouncing migratory actions, which jeopardize the stability of the country and the province, in particular.
The Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), institutionalized on April 19, 1976, is an executive body of the Ministry of the Interior responsible for promoting and coordinating the execution of measures and actions inherent to the control of entry, transit, stay, residence and exit. of people at land, air, sea and river borders throughout the national territory, as well as issuing international travel documents.
