Africa-Press – Angola. The National Diamond Company of Angola (ENDIAMA) and the National Diamond Marketing Company of Angola (SODIAM) formally joined the International Council for Natural Diamonds on Friday.
The request for integration of these two companies into the organization was made official in June 2025 in Luanda, during a roundtable discussion on “Natural Diamonds – Challenges and Opportunities”.
In a statement from the International Council for Natural Diamonds, released by ENDIAMA, the organization considers the formalization a milestone aligned with the principles outlined in the Luanda Agreement, co-signed last year by Angola, Botswana, the British multinational diamond company De Beers Group and representatives of the intermediary sector.
The document adds that this step reflects a shared vision of taking strategic measures, reinforced by sufficient resources, for the long-term integrity of the natural diamond industry.
The Council notes the recent reception of Angola’s financial contribution, which it considers tangible proof of the proactive commitment foreseen in the Luanda Agreement.
During the accession ceremony, the CEO of ENDIAMA, Ganga Júnior, highlighted the importance of natural diamonds in guaranteeing the livelihood of millions of people who dedicate themselves to this practice.
The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the integrity of the natural diamond industry worldwide.
Its main mission is to educate and inspire consumers about the value of natural diamonds and the positive impact of the industry.
