to the President of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, General Abdel Fatah Al-Burhan, in order to address the prevailing situation in that country, for which he advocates a ceasefire.

During the same call, he expressed Angola’s solidarity with the Sudanese people and lamented the consequences of the conflict.

Also in the week that ended today, the statesman called for reflection on the challenges to be faced in order to maintain the spirit of selfless work, in a message on the occasion of International Workers’ Day (May 1st).

In the message, the Head of State also refers to the need for each citizen to work towards generating more jobs in the country.

These challenges were highlighted during the III Session of the Bilateral Angolan-Portuguese Intergovernmental Joint Commission.

This week, the diplomat Maria de Jesus Ferreira delivered, in Lisbon, the credentials to the Portuguese Head of State, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The handing over of credentials symbolizes the beginning of Angola’s role as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Republic of Portugal.

Another fact that was worth highlighting, also last week, was the understanding between the Angolan and South Korean authorities on the need to establish a priority of cooperation in new areas in the most varied domains.

These considerations were made at an audience granted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, to the ambassador of Correia, Choi Kwang-Jin.
