“Our leader sets the course and the women are ready. In the past, there weren’t so many ladies with this level of training, they were empowered and are ready to take on the challenges they faced”, he said during the mass political rally held in the city. of Mbanza Congo, guided by the party leader, João Lourenço.
Esperança da Costa said that the MPLA president is betting on women and they have shown a good work for Angola to continue on the path of progress and development.
The MPLA candidate for Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, was also presented today in Zaire province, by the party leader, João Lourenço, during the mass political act held in the city of Mbanza Kongo.
Profile of Esperança da Costa
Esperança Maria Eduardo Francisco da Costa has a PhD in Phytoecology from the Technical University of Lisbon. She has a master’s degree in Plant Productivity, Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa.
Professionally, from 2020 to the present, he has held the position of Secretary of State for Fisheries. Between 2010 and 2020 she was director of the Botany Center at Universidade Agostinho Neto, while in the period 2007-2010 she held the position of National Director of the Expansion of Higher Education at the Ministry of Higher Education.
Her curriculum also includes the position of vice-rector for the University Expansion of UAN (2002 – 2007), founder of the UAN Botany Center. From 1997–2002 she was Deputy Director of Scientific Affairs in the national coordinator of the SADC Biodiversity Studies Network (SABONET), focal point for Southern Africa of the International Science Network, IFS, among other positions.
A member of the MPLA Central Committee since 2019, Esperança da Costa has been through the various structures of the party, in the OMA and JMPLA.
