The Executive will announce, in the coming days, the entry into force of the new pension table for former combatants and veterans of the country, with values ​​higher than the current 23 thousand kwanzas, revealed, in the city of Uíge, Secretary of State Domingos André Tchikanha.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, during a consultation meeting with former combatants and veterans of the country, the Secretary of State also said that, with the completion of the distribution of identification cards, they will be added to their pensions other social and economic benefits.

“The Angolan Executive is attentive to the country’s socioeconomic situation and is aware that with 23 thousand kwanzas nothing can be done to guarantee a dignified life. It is not yet opportune to announce the amount, but it is guaranteed that, in the coming days, the value of the pension it will be superior and will be able to improve the purchasing power of our members”, he clarified, highlighting that information has been added to the identification card that will allow former combatants to enjoy other benefits, such as subsidies for public transport, health services and training. of children.

The Secretary of State for Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland also said that the Executive will implement, in the coming days, a series of technical and administrative measures, aimed at improving the social and economic conditions of those assisted by the Ministry, having justified that the These measures result from the re-registration process in the ministerial department’s database and the carrying out of the proof of life, acts that took place until January of this year.

The re-registration and proof of life process, he said, made it possible to correct some situations that hindered the normal process of assistance to former combatants and war veterans, orphans and their widows, with requirements being implemented that better qualify these beneficiaries, which resulted in the definition of 67 thousand assisted, compared to the 173,200 previously existing.

With the updated numbers, the Secretary of State for Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland believes that the Executive now has all the accurate and credible information to implement new measures that will allow for better dignity to be given to those who fought for the liberation of the Angolan people of the Portuguese colonial regime.
