Africa-Press – Angola. The price of basic food products in the market fell by around 0.16 percent, from the fourth week of April to the first week of May, influenced by the low cost of bread, fat Nido milk, white sugar, rice, cornmeal and chicken thigh.

In commercial establishments, the variation in the price of basic food products dropped by 0.46 percent, while in informal markets it increased by 0.21 percent. The biggest changes were registered in products such as bread, with 1.23 percent, full-fat Nido milk, with 0.56%, and white sugar, with 0.40%.

In commercial establishments, the products that contributed to the price reduction were regular rice, with 4.52 percent, cornmeal, with 4.35%, and chicken thigh, with 3.63%. In informal markets, the reduction was more noticeable in products such as tomatoes (11.69%), beef (2.11%) and bread (1.49%).

In supermarkets, the biggest price changes were registered in the Fresmart network, with 3.48 percent, Maxi (1.82%) and Angomart (0.19%). On the other hand, there was a drop in prices in the Kero network (2.66%), Alimenta Angola (2.56%) and Candando (2.25%).

In informal markets, there was an increase in prices of 0.21 percent, with tomatoes, with 11.69 percent, beef, with 2.11% and bread, with 1.49%. , the goods that most contributed to this increase. The biggest increases were evident in the Kifica (3.82%), Kwanzas (0.71%) and Asa Branca (0.16%) markets.

On the other hand, from the fourth week of April to the first week of May, there was a price reduction in the Correios markets, around 1.66%, Kilómetro Trinta (0.88%) and Katinton (0.51 %).
