Africa-Press – Angola. Expo-Huíla, known as the largest business exchange in southern Angola, starts today in the city of Lubango, with more than 320 exhibitors.
The grounds of the Nossa Senhora do Monte Tourist and Sports Complex, in the city of Lubango, have been extended to 60 new stands, which will allow for the 2022 edition, informed the president of the Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Association of Huíla (AAPCIL). ).
Paulo Gaspar told that the expansion represents 25 percent of the previous capacity. For the 2022 edition, Expo-Huíla runs from the 10th (today, Wednesday) to the 14th of the current month.
“The demand is very high this year”, he justified, adding that there was a need to increase the spaces to serve the companies that explore granite. According to him, these companies represent the largest share of exports in the province. more from outside due to lack of space in the biggest business exchange”, he said.
Paulo Gaspar acknowledged that the increase in spaces was also intended to serve companies operating in the renewable energy and agricultural machinery sectors. He clarified that in the new spaces created, mobile or fixed stands can be installed and expanded according to the needs of each company.
“One month before Expo-Huíla, we already had 90 percent of spaces filled”, he said, noting that, exceptionally, this year, requests exceeded expectations. The scarcity of spaces, he said, has been a constant concern, not only of AAPCIL, but also from the Provincial Government of Huíla.
Compared to the past, it went from 220 to 320 spaces, respectively. According to the official, it is not desirable, however, it will minimize demand, especially this year. Paulo Gaspar guaranteed the presence of four Italian companies and three from Portugal and Namibia, which will show what they have and trade, from large to small producers.
In addition to national companies, the official confirmed the presence of exhibitors from the provinces of Cunene, Cuando Cubango, Namibe, Luanda, Cuanza-Sul, Malanje, Uíge, Benguela, Huíla, among others. The president of AAPCIL informed that until yesterday, 312 companies were registered that will exhibit at Expo-Huíla.
He said that the 14 municipal administrations of the province of Huíla will also participate in the event, together with other companies previously selected.
Innovation
The increase in Expo-Huíla to another 25 percent constitutes the novelty of the 2022 edition, which takes place within the scope of the Nossa Senhora do Monte Festivities. Paulo Gaspar assured that the planned program will be fully implemented. In addition to the normal work at Expo-Huíla, there will be regular lectures on topics in the sectors of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Livestock.
Asked about the volume of business to be collected, Paulo Gaspar clarified that AAPCIL gives the spaces at symbolic prices to associates and non-associates and the business is done by the companies. However, he assumes that many businesses start at Expo-Huíla and continue afterward.
“After Covid-19, we will have a well-attended and neat Expo-Huíla. For the first time, two months before the month of August, Expo-Huíla was already full, which is a positive indication with the presence of large national companies who will be represented”, he assured, having assumed that Expo-Huíla is a good place to do business.
