Africa-Press – Angola. The Chief of State – General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), General Egídio de Sousa “Disciplina”, alerted the staff to the need to accompany, in peacetime, the essential challenges to stability, in favor of the socio-economic development of the parents.
The general stated that this condition is more than enough reason for the troops to understand the preservation of peace as a guarantee of the stability of the country.
The FAA Chief of Staff addressed the troops, on Wednesday, during the opening act of the Patriotic Year of Operational, Combative and Educational Preparation, which took place in the locality of Kinkânkala, municipality of Ambriz, under the motto “Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) 30 years of Struggle and Victory in the Defense of Territorial Integrity”.
Egídio de Sousa “Disciplina” recalled that the stories of struggles and glories, for Angola to become an independent and sovereign State, demonstrate the importance and the need to keep the Armed Forces at the highest level of combat readiness.
“The training of troops represents the guarantee of the defense of the homeland and national interests. It is a deterrent against risks and threats to sovereignty and fundamental interests, in strict alignment with international law”, the general stressed.
According to the FAA’s Chief of Staff, troops must always be very well prepared to keep the homeland safe from any invader, because “we live in an essential era, characterized by the emergence and proliferation of terrorism, transnational crimes and acts of subversion to the constitutional order”.
He added that the need to guarantee peace forces the troops to improve, more and more, the methods of action, both in theory and in practice, to allow the consolidation and generalization of knowledge about the military art. The general concluded that the FAA is a noble institution in society, made up of educated and well-prepared men and women.
