Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty officers, including non-commissioned officers, from the three branches of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) completed the peacekeeping instructor training course, Friday, in Bengo province.

Taught by instructors from the Namibian Defense Forces, the course took place from October 13th to 24th and included personnel from all three branches of the FAA (Army, Air Force, and Navy).In his speech, Brigadier André Francisco Sitileni, commander of the 70th Infantry and Motorized Brigade of Vale de Paraíso, said that the training initiative aims to strengthen the technical and operational capabilities of its personnel, ensuring greater readiness and effectiveness in peacekeeping missions.

He reiterated the commitment and engagement of senior management to meet the demands of defending the homeland, the SADC region, and the African Union.

In turn, Brigadier Benjamim João Lopes, head of the Teaching and Research Directorate of the Main Troop Preparation Directorate of the FAA General Staff, said that the training initiative is part of the cooperation between Angola and Namibia in the field of defense and security, dictated by geographic proximity and proximity.

The Peace Support Operations training course also aims to increase the number of instructors in this strategic area, as part of a process of rejuvenating and modernizing the training capabilities of the Angolan Armed Forces.

Participating in the closing ceremony were members of the Bengo provincial government and the defense attaché of the Republic of Namibia in Angola, Captain Gabriel Iyambo.
