Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) expressed its condolences in Luanda, following the death, in Lisbon, Portugal, of the former head of the governing body for futsal (FAFUSA), Luís Mourão Garcez da Silva, due to illness.
In a condolence note on its official website, the FAF stated that it was with great sadness that it learned of the passing of former FAFUSA’s head Luís Mourão da Silva, who died of illness in Portugal on Wednesday July 9th.
It added that, in this time of pain and mourning, the FAF, through its president, Fernando Alves Simões, extends its deepest condolences to the deceased’s family, as well as to the entire sports family.
It should be noted that Engineer Mourão held the positions of ENE Sports Group of Luanda and of FAFUSA Chairperson with a strong sense of mission, where he marked an era with his dedication.
It was also through his leadership that Angola participated, for the first time, in the African Cup of Nations in 2028. Rest in peace, Engineer Mourão! reads the FAF document.
