Africa-Press – Angola. The Disciplinary Council of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) decided to suspend the 10 clubs that announced their withdrawal from the competition for a period of two sporting seasons without competing in the Angola Cup in the current 2023/24 season.
According to FAF statement number 18/SG/24, these are Guicosse FC, Ferrovia do Huambo, Santa Rita do Uige, Sporting do Bié, Recreativo do Libolo, União de Malanje, Sporting de Cabinda, Cacuso FC, Luanda City and Atlético Sport Kalonji FC.
The note states that, due to the withdrawal, the aforementioned teams recorded defeat in their respective matches, in addition to being punished with a fine that is fixed in double the amount of 24,000 UCF, equivalent to 2,112,000 (Two million, one hundred and twelve thousand kwanzas ).
The governing body of Angolan football adds that payment must be made to its treasury, within 20 days, counting from its notification, under penalty of the clubs having the fine increased by 50 percent.
On the other hand, the FAF Disciplinary Council decided to open disciplinary proceedings against the Sports Director of the Clube Desportivo da Lunda Sul team, Roberto Cambundo “Bebeto”, for Corporal Offenses.
At issue is the seriousness of the events that occurred during the dispute of the game referring to the 22nd round of the National Championship (Girabola2023/24) between the teams of Desportivo da Lunda Sul and Petro de Luanda, at Estádio das Mangueiras.
The leader of the Lunda team was expelled, for attacking Felisberto do Amaral “Gilberto”, delegate to the game of the “oil” team, with a slap in the face, moment before the challenge, in the locker room corridor, an event that was witnessed by the Commissioner at the game.
In view of the facts, the president of the FAF Disciplinary Council ordered, under the terms provided for in article 169 of the FAF Disciplinary Regulations, the opening of the relevant disciplinary process, in which she appointed Dr. Aurio English as her instructor and Ms. Florinda as clerk. Moisés.
Meanwhile, at the proposal of the procedural instructor, the defendant (Roberto Cambundo) is suspended from his duties for a period of three weeks, with a view to taking the necessary steps to discover the material truth.
