Priests of the Catholic Church appealed on Sunday, the 14th, in the commune of Massangano, municipality of Cambambe, province of Cuanza-Norte, to their faithful to actively pray so that the general elections on the 24th of August take place in a climate of high civility and order.

According to Friar Agnelo Kiame, who was speaking on behalf of the other prelates, at the end of the tenth edition of the pilgrimage to Our Lady of Vitória de Massangano, believers should actively participate in the next novenas to be held in all parishes in the country, so that through prayers and cults, intercede with God, so that the country can hold free, fair and uneventful elections.

During the event that brought together 5,507 faithful from Luanda, Kwanza-Norte and Sul, Malanje, Uige and Bengo, between the 13th and 14th, the provincial vice governor of Kwanza-Norte, Leonor Garibaldi, called the attention of those present to adhere to the places indicated, for the exercise of the right to vote. In turn, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ndalatando, Dom Almeida Canda, in his homily, appealed to Angolan families to create conditions for the teaching of their children, through a life in communion with God.

In the prelate’s opinion, society must eradicate the drama of abortion and create a culture of life, for each being conceived or generated “Families must collaborate with God so that children’s lives can grow and flourish,” he said. children who, because of the poverty and nerves of adults, suffer various forms of abuse and mistreatment.

He repudiated parents and guardians who for any reason abandon their children. According to the Bishop, any attempt on life is an affront to God, for this reason, he urged the need to moralize consciences, through ethics, so that humans can act in favor of the existence of men on earth. Dom Almeida Canda stressed that men must rectify their ways, listening to the word of God.

According to the procession’s spokesman, Friar Aldair Josimar, the opening of the canonical conclave took place on Saturday night, (13) with a mass, followed by a candlelight procession and a vigil, under the motto “With Our Lady from Victoria we learn to take care of life”.
