Africa-Press – Angola. Close to 60 vulnerable families, in the municipality of Cazenga (Luanda), last year (2022) benefited from retreading, sewing, motorbikes, ice cream carts and stoves, under the Local Development and Combating Poverty.

This number also includes former soldiers, as well as people registered in the Social Action Information and Management System (SIGAS), where the degree of vulnerability of families is assessed.

The fact was advanced to press this Wednesday, by the municipal director of Social Action, Family and Gender Promotion, Emília Dona, when she was summing up the activities carried out in that period.

He stressed that in the period in question it was possible to insert 18 children in the education system, as well as support the registration of minors, without specifying the number, whose families are devoid of means for this purpose.

For the current year (2023), Emília Dona said that they will continue to work to increase kits for vulnerable families, in order to reduce the poverty index in the communities, with the registration of these in the scope of the municipalization of social action.

They will also continue to advocate for the inclusion of more children in the normal education system, registration of minors and encouragement of non-violence against children, women and the elderly with awareness-raising actions for families.

Cazenga is one of the nine municipalities that make up the province of Luanda. It is bordered to the west by the municipality of Luanda, to the north by Cacuaco, to the east by Viana and to the south by Kilamba Kiaxi.

The municipality has an estimated population of two million inhabitants and a land area of 41.2 square kilometers.
