Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Swimming Federation (FAN) took a step forward this Monday in the project to expand the sport outside Luanda with the affiliation of three clubs from Huambo province.

According to a statement made available, it is the Provincial Sports Association for People with Disabilities of Huambo (APDPDH) and the clubs Desportivo da Caála and Desportivo Ferrovia do Huambo.

In total, the province of Huambo now has four swimming associations with Clube Yofina, all of which will be present in the absolute National Championship, which starts this Thursday, at the Alvalade swimming pool.

The Paralympic class will participate on an experimental basis.

During the formalization ceremony, the federative squad delivered sports materials such as boards, floats, goggles, caps and swimming teaching material to APDPDH and Yofina.

With this number, FAN goes from eight to 11 affiliated clubs, namely 1.o de Agosto, Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda, Clube Naval de Luanda, Onda Sport Clube, Associação Desportiva Escolar Olímpica da Anunciação.

The Clube de Natação group is completed by Claubarto Yofina and the Provincial Swimming Association of Luanda, Clube de Natação de Luanda.

The emergence of new clubs is part of a federative program called “de-luandization” which aims to spread the sport in the 18 provinces of the country.
