Africa-Press – Angola. The Social Support Fund (FAS) will be able to implement, in April this year, in the province of Uíge, a community chess training program, aiming at the massification of the sport in the region.
In an interview, yesterday, the provincial director of FAS in Uíge, Nanizaiawo Capitão, without saying the amount to be invested, said only that in a first phase, the program will guarantee the training of 20 children from the municipality of Songo.
The initiative, which has a partnership with the Provincial Chess Association, may extend to the municipalities of Maquela do Zombo, Mucaba and Cangola.
He said that the training of children aged between six and 17 will be provided by trainers from the Provincial Chess Association, while the Social Support Fund will provide support with equipment, among other funding.
The implementation of community chess falls within the scope of a FAS program, which aims to promote the modality in the municipalities where the Social Monetary Transfers Program “Kwenda” is implemented, for the psychic development of children.
