Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty women from political parties with seats in parliament and civil society organizations from Huíla and Luanda participate from today to Friday (14), in Lubango, in political training on democratic processes and advocacy for gender inclusion in leaders.
This is an event organized by Rede Mulher (RM) and financed by the United Nations (UN), with the aim of empowering this fringe of society, so that it can participate in the internal political processes of the parties and the country, based on in the general concepts of democracy.
In this city, on the sidelines of the training, the consultant for the National Women’s Network, Serafim Melo, highlighted the relevance of the event, as it contributes to a trained woman having a broad vision of a Democratic State and the Law.
She made it known that women, being the majority population in Angola, are called upon to make their contribution to the resolution and prevention of conflicts, as well as to advocate for gender equality, working harder to make parity a fact.
“In politics, in the economy, in health, in education, in sport, in religion and in other places in society, women are taking their place, a place that society itself was not used to, with the scope of their opportunities , as a result of her work in society, she has completely changed”, he expressed.
For three days, participants will address, among various topics, female leadership in political parties, party structures and female leadership, criteria for gender integration in political processes and the presentation of candidacies for elections, conflicts and electoral political processes, definition , concepts and advocacy strategy.
