Africa-Press – Angola. Fifty tennis players, representing eight countries, will be involved in the African Under-14 Circuit of the International Federation (ITF) and Continental Confederation (CAT), in both sexes, to be played from the 24th to the 30th of this month, in the Angolan capital, Luanda.

These are the host country (Angola), Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Nigeria and Egypt, who will compete in singles and doubles, on the courts of the Kikuxi Villas Club Tennis Academy, in the municipality of Viana.

The holding of the unprecedented test marks the beginning of Angola in the organization of international competitions on the ITF and CAT calendar, contributing to the sporting prestige of the country, the promotion and promotion of the modality, according to the Angolan Tennis Federation (FAT), in a note.

For the aforementioned regional event, the Mozambican referee Stélio Carlos was appointed by CAT, to direct the games in the country’s capital.

As for the National Team, which will have 10 players in the category, in both classes, guided by coaches José Almeida “Zerito” and Gil Fortunato, a good part was chosen from the Luanda Association (APTL) tournament, in which Jolino Simão won (CTL) and Cirka Assonjo (Kikuxi).

In the past decade, Angola has already hosted some international tournaments, such as the flag carrier (TAAG), the latter being more recent, as part of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Games (CPLP), on the fields of the Clube de Ténis de Luanda ( CTL), in Coqueiros, in 2014.
