Fineza Teta laments the shortage of material for the plastic arts

Africa-Press – Angola. Visual artist Fineza Teta pointed out, this Monday, in Luanda, the scarcity of material as an obstacle for designers to develop their work and contribute to the transmission of cultural values.

As part of World Designers Day, which is celebrated, he said that artists have remained in this area thanks to their resilience, with the scarcity of resources preventing them from achieving excellence.

According to Fineza Teta, the little material that appears on the local market does not have the required quality, meaning that painters always have to go outside the country to purchase it.

He highlighted the fact that, through painting, the creators of this art were able to transmit the characteristic features of national culture, in its multiple dimensions.

As for training, he acknowledged the fact that the authorities placed the provisions of those interested in arts schools, but regretted the lack of teachers and maintenance of the aforementioned structures.

In another part of his statements, he stated that many artists are currently consumed by profit and immediacy, instead of paying more attention to the quality of their works, which is why it is necessary to raise awareness about the need to be more responsible and judicious in their work. , in search of more dignity.

“The artist must become a professional if he wants to make a living from his art. He must cultivate discipline, permanent study and meditation. Create your market, based on the image of what you produce and be faithful to it”, he highlighted.

On the other hand, he expressed sadness at the fact that people, nowadays, show little interest in acquiring works of art, a factor that makes it difficult for artists to remain in the market.

About the date

World Designers Day is celebrated annually on April 15th. The date is intended to honor professionals and artists who enchant and fascinate with their traits and creativity.

A designer can work in different areas, from illustrations aimed at entertainment, digital art, advertising agencies or even drawing as a hobby, without financial intentions.

The date was created in honor of the birthday of one of the most important designers of all time: Leonardo da Vinci, who was born on April 15, 1452, in the city of Vinci, Italy.

The date was established for the first time as a commemorative in 2011, through an initiative of the International Arts Association (IAA), considered the largest non-governmental organization of visual arts, created in 1954 by UNESCO – United Nations Educational Organization, Science and Culture.
