Africa-Press – Angola. The Civil Protection and Fire Service (SPCB) in Cuanza Sul rescued this week, in the municipalities of Sumbe and Cela, three bodies of children who were victims of presumed drowning.
The information was provided by the spokesman for the SPCB, Eduardo António, noting that two bodies were rescued Wednesday from two wells in the town of Waku Kungo, in the municipality of Cela, the victims being two children under three months old, drowned in the Tunga neighbourhood, and another seven years old, who lost his life in the town of Pecuária.
According to the person in charge, who presented the week’s operational data, the third victim was a child under nine years old, found lifeless in the Cambongo river, in the vicinity of the Pindo neighborhood, in the municipality of Sumbe.
He referred that the three corpses were handed over to their respective families, for funerals to take place.
In the same period, the SPCB carried out, in coordination with INEMA and the National Police, 26 rescue services in the municipalities of Sumbe and Porto-Amboim, which culminated in the evacuation of several patients to various health units.
The note reinforces the corporation’s commitment to continue to carry out awareness campaigns on prevention against fires, natural disasters and drowning.
